700 Afghan Militia Troops Resign In Protest at US Policies

KHOST : 700 Karzai militia troops who were posted in Kabul and its interior regions have rejected US policies. They have returned their uniforms and are not performing duties any more. They have also evacuated official residences.

The Karzai militia troops are in revolt over the non payment of salaries and the strikingly effective Mujahideen attacks. They also harour a deep hatred of their US paymasters, as US troops have systematically used Afghan troops as cannon fodder and human shields, resulting in the past majority of casualties being incurred by Afghan
militia.

Some sources suspect that these troops might have responded to Mulla Umar's recent call to jihad and thus have rejected their respective apostated warlords.

The negotiations between coalition forces and former governor of Khost Bacha Khan have also failed. The rebel commander held negotiations at Bagram and demanded that all his sons be released as a prerequisite to negotiations. The coalition forces countered by demanding Bacha Khan to aquiesce to Karzai's rule first.
