Letter from
Mullah Muhammad Umar
In the Name of
Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
To our Brothers in Islam in Afghanistan
and in all the countries of our beloved Muslim Ummah.
May Allah accept both your fast and ours, and our (night) prayers (in
Ramadan), and may Allah bless your Eid and ours. Eid has returned to us
and we thank Allah for we, having being patient, are now – by the Mercy
and Grace of Allah - stronger and more prepared than we were before,
despite the wounds and the trials that have been inflicted upon us and our
Ummah.
On this day our enemies - enemies of our Ummah and our way of life - are
far away from achieving their goals, their hopes and unity, while they are
closer to the wrath of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. Our American enemies and
their allies with their aggression against our country and our Ummah have
achieved only sin, destruction, damage, and the hostility of poor weak
oppressed peoples. Having opened doors for themselves – which they could
have kept closed - they will wish that they had never ventured along this
path.
They claimed they wanted to bring security to Afghanistan, although it is
today more chaotic and insecure than it was before. They claimed they
would remove the hunger of its people, yet today they are poorer and more
hungry than they were. They claimed they would remove “terror” from the
world, although today it is full of terror because those who claim to want
to stop terror are themselves terrorists and must stop their own terrorist
activities first, for they are terrorizing the weak and poor peoples, and
as Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) says “Allah does not uphold the work of
mischief-makers.”
Even now America is preparing for another aggressive and oppressive war
against the Iraqi people under the pretext of fighting terrorism. The
whole world knows that this is a lie and that the truth is that it is
America that is conducting and supporting terrorism. Yet it uses this lie
as a pretext to take control of a people and to occupy their lands and rob
them of their resources. While this is not surprising for the arrogant US
- which is driven by a hate inspired Jewish cabal - it is surprising to
see other countries joining with and supporting America, for they have a
long history of civilization, with some of them also having bad
experiences with Muslims, and rather than learning from these, they are
sinking deeper into error.
Muslims: America and whoever stands
behind them will not limit themselves in fulfilling their desires and
widening their aggression until the people of the Ummah stand up and unify
and strive for Jihad in the Path of Allah and help the Cause of Allah.As
Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) says: “You who believe! If you help ( the
cause of) Allah, He will help you,” and
“As
for those who strive hard in Our Cause, We will surely guide them to Our
Path.”
How many governments have betrayed our
Ummah and forsaken them? Yet it is our people who determine the outcome
and who write its history either through the acceptance of humiliation or
through Jihad and honour.
May Allah return Eid to our Ummah while we live in honour and strength and
in freedom and in triumph.
