Khudari: Gaza suffering reached unprecedented catastrophic levels

GAZA, (PIC)-- MP Jamal Al-Khudari, the head of the popular anti siege committee, has warned that the humanitarian suffering in the Gaza Strip had reached an unprecedented level due to the Israeli siege and continued closure of crossings.

Khudari, in a statement on Wednesday, called on the Arab and Islamic countries and the international community to immediately act to save the besieged Palestinians in Gaza, who are the target of the most dangerous siege that affected their humanitarian, health, environmental and economic conditions.

The MP said that crises are daily escalating in the Strip especially the electricity generation plant which has stopped functioning for two weeks plunging 80% of Strip areas in complete darkness.

He noted that 80% of Gaza bakeries were out of work due to the lack of wheat and cooking gas, which is needed to operate those bakeries.

UNRWA stopped extending aid to 750,000 refugees in the Strip as a result of the closure of all crossings and the Israeli ban on entry of relief material and wheat, Khudari pointed out.

He said that shortages reached basic food articles such as wheat, rice, oil and sugar, and stressed that the Israeli practice is turning from collective punishment to genocide.
